The senior citizen, from the Nottinghamshire area, admitted guilt to a multiple criminal counts when he appeared at Leicester Crown Court on the end of the week.

Yet, he denied a single sexual charge he was accused of, which was involving a young boy.

'Sweet game'

The legal representative, handling the case, detailed the defendant's actions to the legal proceedings.

She explained his victims were disadvantaged youngsters who were staying at a summer camp which he ran.

The defendant conducted a "candy game" with the youngsters, the legal counsel said, in which he would enter the children's bedrooms when they were settling down and tell them to eat sweets "rapidly".

She stated to the judge the defendant had engaged in this activity with the boys "repeatedly", and youngsters had previously fallen ill the following morning.

She stated the defendant had been able to explain this for many years as the minors being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his family member had worries in recently.

The prosecutor continued: "In the summer" his stepchild had suspicions about the situation, justifiably.

"They decided to examine in the individual's items."

The legal counsel stated objects including lubricant, ointment and syringes were found, and his stepchild contacted the police about his worries.

She said the defendant proceeded to engage in the "treat game" with six boys that night - Saturday 26 July - and they were all sick the next day.

"Authorities" had not arrived by that point," she added.

The oversight body, the police conduct office, had stated that it was examining the police response of the events.

The legal representative stated the minors were unable to walk properly due to their condition, so the stepson called the authorities again.

She said the defendant then conducted the "sweet game" in a space of five minors.
